This is shown in the annual report 2019 that Repair Caf\u00e9 International recently published.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">By the end of 2019 exactly 2,000 Repair Caf\u00e9s were active worldwide. A typical Repair Caf\u00e9 has one repair meeting per month, at which an average of 25 objects are examined. On average 70 percent of these repairs are successful.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Full Boeing 747<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;If we assume that an average object weighs a kilo, and if 35,000 objects are repaired in Repair Caf\u00e9s around the world every month, then 2,000 Repair Caf\u00e9 locations around the world prevent 35,000 kilos of waste every month&#8221;, Repair Caf\u00e9 International writes in its annual report. &#8220;Over the whole of 2019 that is 420,000 kilos. That&#8217;s about as much as a full Boeing 747, with passengers, cargo and fuel on board!&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4785\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4785\" style=\"width: 1024px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-4785 lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP\/\/\/yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.repaircafe.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/12\/Boeing_747-1024x372.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"372\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4785\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-4785 lazyload\" src=\"https:\/\/www.repaircafe.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/12\/Boeing_747-1024x372.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"372\" \/><\/noscript> <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">A full Boeing 747, with passengers, cargo and fuel on board, weighs more than 400,000 kilos.<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In the fight against climate change, Repair Caf\u00e9s around the world have also made their contribution in 2019. Repair Caf\u00e9 International calculates that the 420,000 successful repairs together have prevented up to 10 million kilos of CO2 emissions.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Jubilee Celebrating Repair<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2019 was an anniversary year: the Repair Caf\u00e9 celebrated its tenth anniversary in October. The foundation celebrated this with the jubilee program Celebrating Repair.
